My course of studies at the University of Houston have supplied me with a comprehensive background in broadcast. The Television production class gave me the opportunity to be in a live news studio setting. I was able to work behind the scenes with the production crew and also to be in front of the camera as a news anchor. Each week I would record a six minute show. Each show had a different theme with different students working diverse positions. Another class that gave me some experience with being on camera was The Media Performance class. This was fully a hands on class for broadcast journalism students. Each Saturday we would go to the on campus PBS studio and record a 26 minute show consisting of a variety of news worthy stories. I was involved in three out of six of the shows. The positions I worked were being a host, a five minute in studio interview, and an Electronic Field Production (EFP). For each position that I participated in I was responsible for  writing and memorizing my own scripts. I really enjoyed this class a great deal and it gave me experience to see what it’s like to be in the broadcast business.  With my studies at the University of Houston I have a proven ability to learn challenging concepts quickly and have developed competencies in diverse areas in the broadcast industry.
